Sprig Sauvignon Blanc 2010
Wine profile
This Sauvignon Blanc has bold citrus and passionflower aromas, juicy flavours of green papaya and gooseberry, with a whiff of lemon and grapefruit.
Viticulture
All the grapes for this Sauvignon Blanc come from the Bouldevines vineyard on Dog Point Road in Marlborough. The 2010 vintage was quite long and even. It started late for Marlborough and we were blessed with fine weather until well after the picking had finished. The grapes were picked in three batches once they were showing their best qualities.
Winemaking
We destemmed, gently pressed and cold settled the fruit for this wine. This gave us clear juice, which we brought down to 12°C for fermentation. After fermentation, we left the wine on lees for a couple of months to increase secondary complexity to complement the strong fruit flavour.
Finally, it was blended and bottled, ready for you to enjoy.
